Just finished another great photo workshop on Whidbey Island for the Pacific NorthWest Art School last weekend. Whidbey is a beautiful place and was very quiet and peaceful as the tourists are mostly gone for the season.
Next year, 2016, I’ll be doing 4 workshops there:
Find … See … & Create – January 29-30
Close Up Photography – May 6-7
From Concept to Print – June 23-26
Abstract Photography – November 11-12
I hope you can join me!
We had a good and eager group in Whidbey Island for two full days of presentations and some field work on the weekend of February 14 & 15. I really love teaching at the Pacific Northwest Art School (PNWAS) … not only are the folks there great, but the classroom setup is first class. The night before my workshop they asked me to do a presentation on our ULTIMATE ICELAND photography workshops and our soon-to-be-announced Ultimate Norway destination, which everyone there thoroughly enjoyed.
A local writer, Jack Penland, attended the 2-day workshop and did a great write-up for the Whidbey / Camino Islands webpage titled “Art Class Escape on Whidbey Island … What is it like taking a class from an internationally-known photographer at Whidbey Island’s Pacific Northwest Art School.”
““The light will start getting good in about 20 minutes,” Jack Graham told me. I was thinking to myself, “We’re talking about light here, so I must really be in an art class. Who woulda thought?” Granted, it was 6 in the morning on a Sunday and we were standing on the Coupeville wharf waiting to photograph the sunrise, but it was still an art class. After 40 years of ducking and dodging, a run I began in middle school, there I was—art class.”
